What matters for new parents
- Start with current official safety guidance and the child's age or weight requirements.
- Check that covers and feeding components can be cleaned as instructed.
- Avoid buying the next stage too early; storage and suitability can change.
These listings are a starting point. Matching a shopper-related keyword does not establish suitability; check each product against your requirements.
How to choose furniture & decor
Measure the room, the delivery route and your existing furniture before ordering. Repairability and a piece you can move with you can matter more than a fashionable finish.
| Check before buying | Why it matters | Trade-off or limit |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensions, access and assembly | Include doorways, stairs, lift size and space around drawers or doors. | Flat-pack access is convenient, but repeated dismantling may wear fixings. |
| Construction and replaceable components | Check joints, upholstery care, covers, hardware and spare-part availability. | Solid materials can be heavier and require more maintenance. |
| Delivery and return conditions | Check assembly services, collection charges and packaging requirements. | A return can be costly for bulky items even when the purchase price is competitive. |
Common mistake: A wood-effect surface is not solid timber, and a forestry certification does not establish the whole product's environmental footprint.
