How to choose garden & outdoors
Match the product to the growing space, exposure and task. A balcony container, shaded border and large lawn have different capacity and maintenance needs.
| Check before buying | Why it matters | Trade-off or limit |
|---|---|---|
| Site, dimensions and weather exposure | Check drainage, sunlight, anchoring and outdoor-use instructions. | Weather-resistant is not the same as maintenance-free. |
| Materials and upkeep | Check treatment requirements, replaceable parts and winter storage. | Natural materials may need regular protection to last outdoors. |
| Compatibility and consumables | Check battery platforms, hose fittings, refill sizes and local growing conditions. | A cheap tool may tie you to costly batteries or proprietary parts. |
Common mistake: Do not assume biodegradable pots disappear quickly in every soil or that an organic claim makes a garden chemical harmless.
